Troubleshooting To improve video quality when recording with DJI O3 HD VTX, turn off its electronic stabilization and use GyroFlow stabilization software. When fixing the HD VTX bracket with M1.4*10 screws, ensure that the nut just touches the shock-absorbing ball. The Jello effect may occur during the above installation due to 2 reasons: The VTX bracket is over-tightened with the screw and the rubber dumper is totally deformed. To solve this, make sure that the screw is tightened just enough to touch the shock-absorbing ball and keep the ball and bracket loose. If It is a large deformation of the frame or quadcopter blades, replace the frame or blades with larger vibrations if necessary. Note: use acetate tape to bind motor wires and prevent them from drooping and interfering with the propeller's rotation. Basic Configuration SuperG Nano Transmitter is designed to receive signals using the Crossfire Serial Data Protocol (CRSF). Therefore, the interface of the transmitter's high-frequency module needs to support CRSF signal output. Taking the EdgeTX transmitter system as an example, we will explain how to configure the transmitter to output CRSF signals and control the transmitter using Lua scripts. Bind & External Power Supply The SuperG Nano Transmitter utilizes the default firmware, which employs the ExpressLRS V3.3.0 official protocol without a Binding Phrase. Consequently, the binding receiver should also be equipped with firmware V3.0.0 or higher and have no Binding Phrase set. For optimal performance, it is recommended to position the transmitter's two antennas as far apart as possible. Put the receiver in a bound state and wait for connection. Click the "Bind" in the Lua script or the set custom button to enter the binding mode. If the Indicator has turned solid, it indicates that the device has been bound successfully. Note: If the firmware of the TX is reflashed and the Binding Phrase is configured, you cannot enter the Binding state through the above method. Please set the RX to the same frequency Binding Phrase, and the TX and RX can be connected automatically. When the dual transmit power exceeds 500mW, the SuperG Nano Transmitter exhibits relatively high power consumption, leading to a reduced battery life. To prolong the transmitter's usage time, it is advisable to utilize an external battery as a power source. The power consumption of the transmitter is not only related to the transmit power but also to the telemetry ratio. When using high power of 500mW and above, the return ratio can be set higher to reduce power consumption and extend use time. For example, in Gemini mode, the power consumption of setting the return ratio to 1:128 is 1000mA, while the power consumption of setting the return ratio to 1:2 is only half of 1:128. Note: When the voltage of the radio transmitter battery or external battery is lower than 7V (2S) or 10.5V (3S), please use the Gemini mode of 500mW and 1W carefully, otherwise the transmitter will enter the restart state due to insufficient power supply, resulting in disconnection out of control. FAQ When establishing a link, it is not possible to enter the LUA script. The ELRS LUA script version is outdated and requires an upgrade to elrsV3.lua. The baud rate of the radio transmitter is set below 400K, and it should be adjusted to a value above that. If there is no option to modify the baud rate, it is necessary to update the radio transmitter firmware, ensuring that EdgeTX is at version V2.7.0 or newer. If your radio transmitter is unable to use the F1000 Packet rate or prompts "Baud rate is too low". Reason: F1000 requires a baud rate higher than 400K, and the radio transmitter's baud rate is 400K by default. Solution: First update the baud rate (greater than 400K) setting in the Hardware from the Model Setup menu or System menu, then restart the radio transmitter to ensure the baud rate setting has been applied. Then change the Packet rate. When the F1000 is turned on, the Packet rate between the radio transmitter and the SuperG Nano Transmitter is less than 1000. Reason: EdgeTX version problem Solution: The EdgeTX version needs to be upgraded to 2.8.0 or above. And the LiteRadio 3 Pro Radio Transmitter defaults to EdgeTX 2.8.0 and does not have this problem. The SuperG Nano Transmitter's default firmware is ELRS V3.3.0, and users need to update the receiver to V3.0.0 or above to bind the frequency. In order to design a better FPV drone, DarwinFPV upgraded the Baby Ape based on the pilots' feedback and launched the BabyApe Pro V2. Darwin made several upgrades to the frame. First of all, nylon standoffs are upgraded to aluminum alloy standoffs, which strengthens the frame and stables structure. Second, they added the receiver fixing bracket. Third, they upgraded the arms. The arms are upgraded from 4 individual arms (2.5mm thickness) to 2 integrated arms (3.0mm thickness). It is easier to disassemble, sturdy, and durable. Lastly, the V2 version only needs 4 screws to fix, and the arm can be replaced by removing 2 screws without removing the whole drone. Use this frame in 1.5mm or 2mm with the 1S 3” drivetrain for a super fun and safe 45-55g AUW quad that will knock your socks off! The same pattern is offered in 3mm for the 3S drivetrain if you prefer a unibody over the TP3. It’s impressively stiff and confidence-inspiring in 3mm and only 8.8g. You should be aware that the 1.5mm version is not as strong as the 2mm version but it is about 1.3g lighter.This design is called the ‘Baby Tooth’ not because it’s smaller than the TP3, but because it supports 1S better and is simpler than the TP3. After some heavy refinement, this is the final pattern we landed on.This frame is cut from T700 carbon but It does not have a chamfer on it. This frame is supposed to be a high-value item with the majority of the design time invested into optimizing performance, weight, and durability. RaceDayQuads FPV Cycle Toothpick 3 (TP3) 3" Micro Frame Kit
At its inception, the Toothpick formula was to turn a whoop inside out and give it the ability to perform like a much larger craft. Just a typical brushless AIO whoop board with similar motors but very large, very light 65mm(2.5in) props on a very light frame. The resulting performance was jaw dropping in any configuration from an AUW of ~37g on 1S to 73g on 2S and pure wackiness on 3S.The goal with the Toothpick project was first and foremost to be safe for almost any environment, fully legal, quiet, durable, reliable and most importantly, loads of fun! These features should not be compatible with each other but the magic of crazy disk loading and power radios made it possible.As with anything, the more you do it, the more developed and fine tuned your tools become. Like a surgeon that gets better at their craft and graduates to more and more developed instruments, the TP3 is literally a refined, purpose built, surgical instrument of the sky. If built to top end spec on 3S, this sucker is a frikin bullet! So throw that safety out the window. However the same setup on 2S becomes a very safe friend :-). Just as safe as the original Toothpick setup. The noise profile on 2S is significantly quieter than a 65mm/2.5” Toothpick twin blade on 2S. On 3S it’s still slightly quieter than a top power spec 65mm/2.5” Toothpick.The TP3 formula is similar to the original. Extremely low weight, large props for such a low weight and the smallest motor that can spin that prop with good control. The pudding is in the details however and we spent months intensely testing everything just to find out that what we’re looking for doesn’t exist! So we started making custom parts. There is a lot in how it’s setup as well but that’s better left to the video than writing pages on pages...Starting with the prop, we knew what we wanted but it didn’t exist. Having a good relationship with Gemfan, we carefully crafted a prop together and they got working on manufacturing. With the prop in mind, we then tested custom motor products from just about every known company out there before landing on a couple of gems...that only became good with numerous revisions. Other manufacturers will figure it out and give us more options in time but the two we have now are stellar. Given the crazy performance we were after, the frame also needed to be reimagined to perform and hold up to a new level of punishment. Next, we had to solve the annoyance with whoop boards and how difficult they were to solder. FullSpeed and BetaFPV were instrumental in the execution of the redesign and we now have two great options in case one runs into QC or reliability issues. The rest of the build is arbitrary but we prefer just a basic camera and Vtx to keep the weight down. Performance wise, this thing is FAST. FAST fast. There are probably other things in this size class that are faster in a straight line, but that's not what we mean by fast. It’s like flying a laser pointer, it just does EXACTLY what you want it to do with absolute precision. Throttle control is also exquisite. It's a bit difficult to explain all the performance in words but when you fly one, you'll understand. The performance profile on a low weight load out also fits a Betaflight stock tune with just a little more TPA.Durability is one area that may be in question and is where we need to put a little bit of a disclaimer on this style build. When built to top spec on 3S, this thing is VERY FAST and INSANELY AGILE. This build is designed for advanced pilots but it doesn’t mean that it’s weak or not for beginners. That’s actually far from true. The frame is quite robust, motors are quality built and even the prop shaft is beefed up. When you first learn to ski or snowboard, you fall. You fall a LOT. It hurts. As you improve, you learn how to fall. Pro level athletes do amazing things and also know how to fall amazingly well. As an FPV pilot, you learn how not to break your equipment….or, balls to the wall and you know you’re going to break it and are okay with it. To achieve this level of performance, high durability has been replaced with repairability. It definitely still takes quite a bit of force to break an arm. The extremely low weight means that if you’re a beginner and running 2S, it’ll be quite difficult to break. It really only becomes a hazard to itself when you're darting around at high speeds.This thing is so incredibly easy to fly with its low weight and incredible control, it’s exactly what the advanced pilot needs to push their own limits and exactly what the novice wants to learn on.
