  • ESU LokProgrammer - For your own special sound

ESU ESU LokProgrammer - For your own special sound

    Out of stock

You want to listen to the sound spectrum of your favourite loco, or the special sound of that loco around the corner in the yard – on your model railroad? No problem with ESU’s LokProgrammer! One prerequisite: A PC with sound card and Windows (Windows XP, 7, 8, 8.1, 10). Simply record the original sound of your engine and edit it at home with your computer. Many customers did this already successfully. Even if you don’t yet belong to this elite group of LokSound Pro’s, the LokProgrammer is still a very useful tool for you. It is the easiest way to program your ESU-decoder. You need no programming experience, thanks to the graphic screen everything falls into place with a few mouse clicks. What the LokProgrammer can do: Change the sound saved on the decoder. Setting of all digital parameters of the Loksound decoder such as address of the loco, operation speed, maximum speed, braking deceleration, brightness of bulbs etc; you can set all options with your computer very easily - no cumbersome entering of CVs (configuration variables) with your command station. Rearrange your sounds and transfer it to the LokSound decoder. You can use all sounds that can be downloaded to your computer hard disk. Sound can be allocated to different events. Additional sounds can be activated via function buttons. Sound With the LokProgrammer you can erase the sound data of any LokSound decoder as many times as you wish, and replace it with a different sound. To this end we offer on our homepage more than 200 different, fully matching sounds of various prototypes and locos for downloading on your computer. Also you can edit just parts of a sound project: You don’t like the decoder’s whistle? Just replace it with one of the many others. Suitable sources beside those offered by us, are in Windows *.wav format available. Sound – even voice or music is no problem for our decoders. With the LokProgrammer’s aid you use the entire flexibility and functionality offered by LokSound decoders. Programming By the same token, all other ESU decoders profit from the LokProgrammer’s versatility; no matter if DCC, Multiprotocol - or mfx decoder. With its help it’s possible to edit all parameters of the particular decoder simply and conveniently. The available options depend on the kind of decoder. Beside addresses and acceleration - and deceleration settings, this concerns above all the allotment of function keys (function mapping), the allocation of special effects to the individual outputs, or the lamp brightness. The LokProgrammer can also help when optimizing back EMF parameters or the loadable speed table. All options can be programmed very conveniently: There is no tedious punching-in of CV-numbers at the digital station anymore. Hook up It’s this simple: The LokProgrammer is a small programming box, which is wired between the PC and a programming track. To connect it you need either a vacant serial interface, or you use the included USB adapter cable (works with Windows up to Windwows 10). For power we include a 500 mA wall power supply. If your needs are greater (e.g. for gauge I engines), you can also use a conventional model railroad transformer. Software After hook-up you start up the especially user-friendly LokProgrammer software. This runs on all modern Windows-systems (Windows XP, 7, 8, 8.1, 10). Just put the loco with the ESU decoder on your programming track, and right away you can read, edit or program it. The Programmer automatically recognizes the decoder in the engine. Simplicity The LokProgrammer is recommended not only for the use with our ESU decoders: By now, many well known model railroad manufacturers factory-furnish their locos with ESU-decoders, which of course can be modified again within the frame work of their technical specifications – with the help of the LokProgrammer. You see, purchasing a LokProgrammer pays off in any case. Upgrades The LokProgrammer can also be instrumental in updating decoders. Almost all ESU decoders are updatable, in case you desire a new software version. To do this, you only need the LokProgrammer and a small update-program, which you can The future LokProgrammer software is being reviewed continuously. The latest, pertinent version can always be downloaded from our homepage, or can be installed automatically, through an internet-update function, on your computer.

    ESU ESU, 54671, PowerPack Mini

    Out of stock

The new ESU PowerPack Mini can be wired to all fourth and fifth generation ESU decoders. It reliably supplies energy to your locomotive when traversing dirty track or long turnout ladders. With its energy storage (1 Farad capacity) the unit supplies power to all light and motor functions as well as to the sound module. Subject to the energy consumption of your model it may continue to move for up to three seconds. The PowerPack Mini incorporates an integral charging circuit controlled by the decoder. Therefore it may be connected even during programming. In order to avoid an undue load on the booster in case there are several models in the same booster sector, the charging current is limited. The buffer time can be reduced by means of a CV. This may be useful to assure the correct stopping position ahead of signals showing the “Stop” aspect (red signal). Although it is considerably smaller than its predecessor, the space requirements of the PowerPack Mini of about 15.7 mm x 9.7 mm x 13 mm must be taken into account when installing this unit. A three-pole wire harness connects the PowerPack Mini to the decoder. The wires are already soldered to the PowerPack Mini and must be soldered to the appropriate solder pads of the decoder. Please note that the PowerPack cannot operate in analogue mode due to technical reasons: Buffering is therefore not possible in analogue mode.

  • LokSound 5 DCC/MM/SX/M4 "blank decoder", 8-pin NEM652, with Speaker 11x15mm, gauge: 0, H0

    ESU LokSound 5 DCC/MM/SX/M4 "blank decoder", 8-pin NEM652, with Speaker 11x15mm, gauge: 0, H0

    Out of stock

The LokSound 5 is the most important member of the LokSound family. Due to the combination of the digital decoder and the sound module on one circuit board we achieve the smallest possible dimensions of 30 mm x 15.5 mm. Therefore it fits into almost any H0 or 0 gauge locomotive. LokSound 5 decoders are available with all popular interface types and are supplied with a sugar cube speaker (11 mm x 15 mm) and a sound enclosure. The LokSound 5 DCC is made for the North American and Australian markets. It is a pure DCC Decoder, which supports RailComPlus and can also be used on DC layouts. Please note the LokSound 5 DCC decoder does not come with a speaker. Operating modes Like all products of the LokSound family the LokSound 5 is a true multi protocol decoder. It supports DCC as well as Motorola®, Selectrix® and M4. Of course it supports 14 through to 128 speed steps as well as 2 and 4 digit addresses in DCC format and up to 32 functions. Thanks to RailComPlus® the decoders register themselves fully automatically on suitable command stations. This decoder supports all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom® you may read out the CV values on the main, provided you have a command station supporting RailCom®. There are utility registers for command stations that only facilitate programming of CVs ranging from 1 to 255. Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps for 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses facilitate triggering of 16 functions. An integral programming mode even allows programming with the good old Central Unit 6021. The M4 protocol supports the automatic registration on mfx® compatible central units. The LokSound 5 decoder supports the Märklin® braking sections just as well as the ZIMO® HLU braking commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake generators or with DC is also possible. Furthermore the locomotive with a LokSound will come to a halt when a Selectrix® braking diode is switched into the circuit. The ABC push-pull feature enables the automatic commuting between two stations. The LokSound 5 decoder is also suitable for analogue DC and AC (!) layouts. Sound The LokSound 5 decoder can reproduce up to 10 channels simultaneously. Each channel offers up to 16 Bit / 31250 kHz and thus we have finally achieved hi-fi sound quality on your layout. For all practical purposes one cannot detect any difference to the original. A class D audio power amplifier with up to 3W output power feeds the speakers with a permitted impedance of 4 – 32 Ohms. The huge 128 MBit sound memory assures sufficient storage capacity. The volume of all individual sound fragments may be adjusted separately. The outstandingly flexible sound engine without a rigid flow chart facilitates a prototypical simulation of all conceivable rail vehicles. Three separately adjustable braking functions and two alternative load scenarios provide you with maximum control of your vehicles. Functions We are quite aware that you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. Therefore we have packed many function outputs into it.  Subject to the type of interface every LokSound 5 has at least 10 amplified outputs. The decoders with PluX22 or 21MTC interface have an additional 4 outputs for controlling servos or as logic outputs. Of course, all important lighting functions are supported. The brightness of each output may be adjusted separately. The decoder supports the automatic push and pull movements – known as the coupler waltz - required for reliable operation of digital couplers such as the ones by ROCO® and Krois® as well as Telex® couplers. Motor control Motor control of the LokSound 5 has been further improved. A variable PWM pulse frequency ranging from 10 kHz to 50 kHz assures perfect silent operation, particularly for coreless motors. Thus the typical hum is a thing of the past. Load control can now be adjusted with up to 10 separate CVs and thus will manage even the most difficult cases. The unique “Auto Tune” function facilitates the automatic calibration of the decoder to perfectly match the motor. The LokSound 5 decoder supplies up to 1.5A motor current, which is quite sufficient even for older motor types. LokSound 5 DCC The LokSound 5 DCC is made for the North American and Australian markets. It is a pure DCC Decoder, which supports RailComPlus and can also be used on DC layouts.

  • ESU Cab Control Digital System

ESU ESU Cab Control Digital System

    Out of stock

Since smart phones with touch screens have almost completely replaced the conventional mobile phone, model train enthusiasts and manufacturers face the question how to employ more powerful devices for controlling model trains. As a result of this, many apps have been developed lately, which can be uploaded onto your mobile phone and used for running your trains. This concept, however, has one disadvantage, namely that smart phones have not been primarily designed for running model trains. Due to the lack of suitable input elements the operator is forced to spend most of the time looking at the display. The limits become quickly obvious so we at ESU had a look at the question on how to utilize the advantages of the smart phone technology and combine it with the needs of model train enthusiasts. It is with great joy that we now present the results of our considerations. With the new ESU CabControl DCC system you have wireless control of your locomotives, accessories and routes simply by Wi-Fi! With the 50310 CabControl Integrated Control Unit, advanced model railroading is as simple as ever. With our new system, you have full control over your locomotives, switches and signals just at the tap of a finger. The unit communicates with our Mobile Control II Wireless Controller via wireless LAN. The CabControl’s integrated 7 Amp booster also allows it to power even larger layouts with ease. LokSound decoders equipped with RailComPlus® even register automatically with the system! Running trains has finally caught up with the technology of today! CabControl - Integrated Control Unit ESU’s “North American” System This system was specially developed for use in North America and Australia. American and Australian locomotive icons (along with European Icons) Easy Consisting for multiple unit lash-ups using drop down menus Wireless walk around system making it easy to follow your train on a large layout. Technical Specification CabControl Features All DCC modes (14, 28, 128 speed steps) Long and short addresses Over 16,000 locomotives can be arranged and controlled Up to 28 functions per locomotive All Scales can be used with the CabControl system with the variable voltage 7Amp Power Supply     Built-in WLAN Access Point Creates a unique Wifi-Network for your Mobile Control II Wireless throttles Supports at least 32 Mobile Control II Wireless ControllersCompliant with all relevant IEEE WLAN standards. Suitable for use in America and Europe The CabControl features a LAN port to connect the box to your home network. Via the home network, the CabControl can be connected to Model RailRoad Control Software.     “ECoSlink” port For easy connection with our ESU boosters, CabControl supports ECoSlink, a high speed, CAN based bus system. The CabControl built-in booster has so much power that, in most cases, you don‘t need additional ones. Hook Up Hook up is simple with the CabControl system. All you have to do is plug the 7 Amp power supply into the CabControl box and then hook up your CabControl box to your track for track power and its ready to go!  The wireless controllers automatically connect to the system via WLAN.  Upgradable On occasion new features will be added to the CabControl system. Gone are the days of having to send your DCC command station back to the manufacturer for updates! When a new update becomes available it is as simple as loading this to a USB Data stick and plugging it in to the back of the system. Easy! Protection Each CabControl system meets the relevant requirements regarding safety and operation on a layout: The track outlet is protected against overload as well as short circuits. Each CabControl system can differentiate between a “genuine” short, and a momentary current drain when passing over switches or gaps. We place value on the indestructibility of the device, just like we do with our mobile decoders. Expansion As the CabControl System uses the ESU Mobile Control II Wireless Throttles, expansion is easy as these throttles are already available and will connect automatically to the Integrated Control Unit. The system can also be used with the ECoSBoost Boosters using the ECoSlink Terminals when more power is needed for large layouts. CabControl - Handheld Wireless Throttle Ergonomics & Functionality Combined When you hold your CabControl Throttle in your hands for the first time you will immediately notice its excellent ergonomics. All Parts of the screen can easily be reached with one hand, and unlike a cell phone throttle, the most important functions can even be reached “without looking” giving you the ability to watch your trains and not needing to watch your throttle. This is due to the central, motorized throttle knob with end stop. With this knob you can delicately control the speed of your trains and change direction. For activating functions simply touch the icons on the display. The display also serves for changing functions – exactly the same way as you know it from your mobile phone.  Finally, two buttons each on either side serve for changing direction or triggering the most important functions. These side buttons are user editable giving you the choice of what you want to control with them. Colorized Function Icons are displayed showing what function does what. Gone are the days of having to memorize what function button control what decoder feature. Running Locomotives The CabControl Throttles can control all locomotives registered in the system and supports 14, 28 or 128 speed steps. All of the important locomotive properties such as name, a picture, function mapping as well as easily identifiable icons for function buttons will be taken from the Integrated Control Unit and will be displayed correctly. You may switch up to 28 functions for each locomotive, which, of course, can either be momentary or continuous functions. You read that correctly! EVERY Function Button can be momentary or latching depending on your use! No more limitations on how you function map your decoders. As standards are constantly changing and the number of DCC function buttons is increased a simple update will allow for even more! Controlling Accessories The CabControl System has the ability to run over 1000 magnetic accessories. More Fun in Operations The high resolution (480 x 800 pixels, 280 dpi), backlit TFT display of the CabControl Throttle always keeps you up to date on the most important operating parameters. Furthermore, you can see if another operator controls a certain locomotive or if an emergency stop has been triggered. The permanently installed, powerful Lithium polymer rechargeable battery will serve you right through the most extensive operating sessions giving 5-8 hours of operation based on how you are using your throttles. Recharge the batteries of your CabControl simply by using the USB port on the Integrated Control Unit and the supplied Micro USB Cable or the battery charger of your mobile phone or any other USB port. Open Platform The CabControl Throttles are based on the Android operating system. We have created a powerful basis for this open, globally used operating system:  The ARM® Cortex® A8 microprocessor clocked with 1.3 GHz and controls a high resolution 3.2 inch TFT color display. A capacitive touch screen assures touch-free data entry. For communicating with the “outside world” there is an USB port and a WLAN interface. Thanks to the standardized radio control interface, trouble free operation of your layout can be assured at any time. The range can be extended with WLAN repeaters, if necessary. Due to the open platform design you may add further apps for the Google Play Store at any time.

ESU is very proud to present to you the new interior LED lighting system for passenger cabins. This system allows you to retrofit your cars with a prototypical and steady interior lighting. The passenger car interior lighting is available in three different versions to match the desired location. The 255mm long, 9mm slim LED lighting strips with 11 LEDs are designed for N, TT and H0 gauge cars that are going to be operated on digital model railroads. We are offering two versions: The version with Part number 50708 is equipped with warmwhite LEDs, while on part number 50709 we installed yellow LEDs. This will give you the choice to match the lighting strips with your existing cars. As usual for all ESU lighting strips, you can adjust the brightness according to your wishes with the help of a small variable resistor (potentiometer). Thanks to built-in voltage control the brightness remains almost constant even when conventional driving. To bridge prolonged power interruptions, you may add a PowerPack. Of course, the lighting strips can be arbitrarily cut to fit the cars of all manufacturers and comes with a red taillight. The integral ESU decoder supports, of course, both Motorola® and DCC and also works on DC analogue layouts. The operating mode is detected automatically. In addition to the basic maximum brightness adjusted with the control knob on the lighting strip, brightness may be further adjusted by means of the software. Various prototypical lighting effects such as soft dimming, fluorescent lamp effect, faulty fluorescent lamp, battery powered lighting and many others provide realistic results. The 11 LEDs are wired in several groups, which can be switched separately. Function mapping allows to assign the LEDs to the function button of your choice. Two additional outputs may be used for the red end-of-train lights or for directional lighting in a cab control car. Of course, all effects can also be programmed once the lighting strip has been installed. Alternatively you may read out the values of your digital interior lights on the programming track.

ESU ESU 58449 LokSound V5 MM 21-Pin MKL Sound Decoder, Steam

The LokPilot 5 decoder can be used on analog DC and AC railways. The decoder switches between the operating modes fully automatically "on-the-fly". Usually nothing needs to be set. Features We know that you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. Therefore, we packed the LokPilot 5 with function outputs. Depending on the interface version, each LokPilot 5 decoder offers at least 10 amplified function outputs with 250mA output current each. In the versions with PluX22 or 21MTC interface, 4 outputs are added to control servos or logic level outputs. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be set separately. The decoder masters the automatic pressing and detaching when uncoupling for ROCO®, Krois® and Telex® couplings. Motor control The engine control of the LokPilot 5 has been fundamentally improved again. A variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz ensures super quiet operation, especially with bell-armature motors - the typical "hum" is a thing of the past. The load control can now be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 CVs. The unique "Autotune" function enables the decoder to be automatically calibrated to the motor. With up to 1.5A motor current, the LokPilot 5 decoder provides enough juice even for older motors. Operational safety On request, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 to bridge dirty rail sections. Protection Of course, all function outputs and the motor output are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.   Possible under Selectrix® operation. Programming must be carried out in DCC mode. Programming with "pure" Selectrix® devices is not possible.

Working with Narrow Hood units in N scale? The NEW 6 output function LokPilot Micro Direct Micro decoder was designed with this purpose in mind! The LokPilot Micro Direct is a versatile DCC & DC “Dual Mode” decoder integrating a full-featured .75A motor controller. The NEW LokPilot Micro Direct Micro only measures 2.60 inch long x .32 inch wide by only .18 tall (66mm x 8.2mm x 4.5mm) making it the world´s narrowest LokPilot decoder maybe the only such decoder with 6 function outputs on the market! We ship the LokPilot Micro Direct Micro in a form factor which is made as an upgrade to DC Locos that came from the factory with ESU Sound. This allows flexible installation in your favorite N scale models. Due to its unique thermal design, it (like all genuine LokPilot decoders) does not need any heat sinks. Operational modes The LokPilot Micro Direct can be used on conventional “analog” layouts and controlled with a DC power pack, but to benefit from all its features, we highly recommend DCC operation. Of course, the LokPilot Micro Direct supports all DCC-programming modes including Programming on the Main Track (“POM”). Because of its unique low-power design, the LokPilot Micro Direct can be programmed on the programming track of all popular DCC systems. No programming track boosters or other circuitry will be needed. By the use of our LokSound Programmer, programming can be even more comfortable by using your computer to adjust the many CVs and settings. Motor management ESU offers load compensation (using B-EMF) since 1999. While other manufacturers seem only to focus on the sound options, the LokPilot Micro Direct offers the 5th generation of motor control resulting in a smooth and precise locomotive operation. We at ESU believe that good motor control is mandatory for model trains: Even the best sound is worthless if the locomotive running is not smooth! Regardless if you are using coreless or conventional DC motors, the LokPilot Micro Direct’s unique auto-detection function can measure the characteristics and adjust the internal settings. There is no need to fiddle around with many CVs to adjust to the engine. Due to Dynamic Drive Control (DDC) you can limit the influence of the load control and operate really smoothly around the depot and over turnouts, while on the main, when going uphill the engine prototypically slows down. Analogue operation The LokPilot Micro Direct decoder can be used for analogue DC locomotives. Functions LokPilot Micro Direct Micro decoders have 6 function outputs with the possibility of using constant current of 50mA each. These outputs can be assigned individually. All important light functions like Flashing ditchlights, Gyrolight, Mars light, and so on are provided including an individual adjustment of brightness for each function. Besides D312 Rotary beacon, strobe and alternate flashing, Mars light, Gyralight, Ditch lights (two types), Oscillating Headlights, Stratolight and many more. The Rule 17 dimmable headlight can be either controlled automatically or by function button. A LED mode brightness correction feature now also allows using LEDs for lighting effects. This is an important feature since LEDs do behave different than bulbs. (Pulse Width Modulation) RailComPlus® With RailComPlus® your locos will be recognized automatically by an appropriate digital command station fast as lightning and will receive a new address. Forget about the cumbersome typing and programming! Safeguard Of course, all function outputs and the motor connection are overload and short-circuit protected. Built-in future LokPilot decoders are firmware updatable. This means you are able to replace the internal decoder software by a newer version, if needed. You only need an ESU LokProgrammer to do so.

    Out of stock

ECoSBoost ext. booster, 7A, MM/DCC/SX/M4, set with power supply 120-240V, EURO + US, manual german / english Part #: 50012 Indispensable components of any large model railroad are amplifiers (here called „Booster“): If the power consumption of all of your moving trains including their functions, car illumination, and function models is larger than the current the central station is able to put out, you have to split up your layout into several blocks, the power for which is supplied by their own booster. The ECoSBoost(er) is designed for precisely that task: It is matched perfectly for the use with our ESU ECoS or the Märklin® central station. Mode of operations The ECoSBoost is connected directly to the ECoSlink jack, from where it gets its control signals. Basically it is capable of amplifying and delivering to the track these data formats: DCC, Motorola, Selectrix® and mfx®. Which data format will be put out in a given case, depends of course entirely upon the command station that’s being used, and its capabilities: Therefore the booster, connected to an ESU ECoS, will handle DCC, and Selectrix®, while, if attached to a Märklin® central station, it will amplify and deliver Motorola®-, respectively mfx® data signals. Thanks to „Plug&Play“, all ECoSBoost(ers) are included automatically into a list of extern ECoSlink components, and can be controlled and configured centrally on the ECoS display. The correct firmware status is essential to make the ECoSBoost work properly with these command stations: If the interior software is too old, the booster will possibly not be recognized. Please check the sytem reqirements. Functions ECoSBoost amplifies data signals generated by the digital central station, and delivers them to the designated track outlet. ECoSBoost power comes from an included power supply, featuring a stabilized DC output. Each ECoSBoost is controlled and configured comfortably directly by the ECoS: For each booster you can individually determine its max permissible output current. What’s more, the display can be dialled up to show you the present power consumption of each booster, so you know how much „reserves“ you still got. Extremely sensible is the option to tell each booster individually, weather or not to shut down its section in case of a layout short circuit. For example, if you have your switch (turnout) decoders hooked up to a separate ECoSBoost, you can still control your switches reliably in case of a track short. Feedback An ECoSBoost can do more than amplify and deliver track current: Each one has incorporated, as a standard feature, a feed back function (Global Detector) for the NMRA Bidirectional Communication. With its help, appropriately equipped locos can send back information to the ECoS, as soon as the relevant DCC – norm is adopted. This is immensely helpful in finding the loco’s position on the layout, or reading out engine data. ECoSBoost reads the data and sends them via the ECoSlink high speed bus to ECoS for further processing. Protection Each ECoSBoost of course meets the relevant requirements regarding safety and operation on a layout: The track outlet is protected against overload as well as short circuits. Of course ECoSBoost can differentiate between a „genuine“ short, and a momentary current drain when passing over switches or gaps. We place value on the indestructibility of the device, just like we do with our mobile decoders. Future built-in The operational software of each, in an ECoSBoost integrated micro controller can be updated, of course, if need be, and augmented by additional functions: The required upgrade is performed automatically bythe ECoS central station, if necessary. No action on your part is required! In this way your ECoSBoost is literally always „up to date“!
