True to the FMS spirit, no detail was overlooked in the design of the ASW-17. The FMS engineers made 4 expensive tooling adjustments just to micro-adjust the airfoil for perfect efficiency. The wing, vertical and horizontal stabilizers are designed with a snap-together structure. With a simple snap, the surfaces attach to the fuselage with pinpoint precision- no screws or glue necessary! Build the aircraft in as little as 3 minutes! Like the 3000mm Fox, the ASW-17 has a pre-installed carbon fiber spar that ensures wing rigidity in high-G maneuvers. To achieve the same dihedral as the real aircraft, the ASW-17 was designed with a specialized CNC aluminum spar joiner- allowing the aircraft to maintain its wing geometry during demanding flight routines. The E-flite UMX P-51D Voodoo Bind-and-Fly Basic Electric Airplane replicates the famous race plane from the striking looks to the outstanding performance. The P-51D-25-NA was built in 1944 by North American Aviation in Inglewood, California, for the United States Army. After crashing on March 19th, 1977 it was purchased by a private party and fully restored as the modified racer "Pegasus" in 1980. It was renamed Voodoo and flew in the 1998 Reno Air Races. It won the Unlimited Class in 2013, 2014, and 2016 and is now part of the Planes of Fame Air Museum collection in Chino, California.

The BNF Basic version includes a 12-blade 90mm fan, powerful 6S-compatible brushless inrunner motor, and a 130-amp Avian Smart ESC that all work together with the expertly optimized ducting to deliver an abundance of speed and thrust plus a turbine-like sound. With this power system, the Viper 90mm is capable of level flight tops speeds up to 120+ MPH and offers great vertical performance with 6S 4000mAh to 7000mAh batteries. It's also equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR637TA receiver featuring exclusive AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies. When using compatible transmitters, the receiver and Smart ESC supply battery voltage, current, motor RPM and other telemetry data in real-time — along with optional-use motor reversing to shorten rollouts after landing and for other special ground handling capabilities.
